We choose to add Dexter cattle to our farm due to their docile temperament. Dexter cattle are easy birthers and display excellent mothering traits. If you do not have large acreage but want to add cattle to your land, Dexter cattle are a wonderful option. We began our Dexter herd with White Rock Blossom and have grown the herd to 25 registered cows. Our cows successfully nurse fall born calves on our stockpiled fescue pastures. Once the stockpiled fescue has been consumed we feed round bale hay until spring grass begins to regrow. Our cattle
All of our Dexter cows are registered through the American Dexter Cattle Association. We have a mixture of horned and polled cattle and are working towards a completely polled herd. When butchering Dexter cattle, you can expect a lean rich flavorful meat. Our Dexter beef is raised on pasture up to 24-25 months until the final 6-8 weeks leading up to slaughter. The final 6-8 weeks our Dexter beef are given unlimited access to hay and fed minimal amounts of grain. This produces excellent quality meat for our customers.
If you are interested in purchasing our pasture raised freezer beef please fill out the contact us form located on the "Contact Us" page. If you are considering adding our genetics to your farm please check the Cattle for sale page or contact us page. We are excited to hear from you and are always open to showing you around the farm and discussing Dexter cattle.
